Ask one question. Let the story come.
Answer one question about yourself or someone you love. Two more gentle questions follow, the kind a good friend would ask at the kitchen table. Your answers stay word for word your own.
Good day. I pour the tea, the interviewer asks the questions.
Rather use your phone? The app is free.
Where did your mother grow up, and what do you still know about that house or that street?

How it works
- 1.Choose whose story it is: your mother, your father, a grandparent, yourself or someone else. A first name is optional.
- 2.Answer the first question, about where they grew up and the house or street they remember.
- 3.Two more gentle questions follow, one at a time. Short answers are fine, and on a phone you can dictate with the keyboard microphone.
- 4.At the end you see the story in your own words, exactly as you wrote them. Copy it to keep it.
What happens to your answers
Your answers stay in your browser: they are not sent anywhere and not stored. No AI is involved; the follow-up questions are written in advance.
We only count how far a conversation gets (which question, whose story and in which language), never what you write. Close the page and your answers are gone, so copy the story first if you want to keep it.
Questions people ask
What questions should I ask to capture someone's life story?
Start with a place: where they grew up and what they still see of that house or street. Then ask who was close to them in those years, and which dish, song or habit brings that time back. This page asks three such questions, one at a time.
Is it free?
Yes. The conversation costs nothing.
Do I need an account?
No. An account is only needed if you want to continue in the app, with the real voice, and keep the story in a room of your palace for the people you choose.
Is AI used to write or change my answers?
No. The follow-up questions are fixed and written in advance, and your answers are not sent to any AI. Nothing is rewritten: the story stays word for word your own.
Can I keep what I wrote?
Yes. At the end, copy the story with one button and paste it wherever you like. Nothing is stored for you, so copy it before you close the page.
