Who makes The Memory Palace, and what it is

The Memory Palace is your own 3D memory palace: your photos, recordings, stories and family tree each get a room in a palace you can walk through. It is private by default, and you can invite family and friends when you choose. It is made by a small, motivated team in Leuven, Belgium.

Who makes it

A small, motivated team in Leuven builds The Memory Palace, with one passion: giving people a place for what they want to remember, and to pass on to the people they choose. No investor decides what happens to your photographs.

It exists in five languages: English, Dutch, French, German and Spanish.

What it is, and what it is not

The Memory Palace is not a memory training app. It is a palace for your own memories: what you keep there, you do not have to memorise. Separately, the site offers a free memory palace generator and guides to the classic memory technique, for anyone who wants to learn a list by heart. Our address is thememorypalace.ai, with "the".

Any AI program can restore an old photograph today. Any genealogy program can open a family tree file. You do not need The Memory Palace for that, and we say so.

What only this does: what you find gets a place that stays standing for the people you choose, on your terms. Nothing more is promised. No "forever", no "guaranteed".

What "on your terms" means

You choose who: for each person an heir or a trusted contact.
You choose what: the whole palace, certain wings or certain rooms.
You choose when: on a date, or only after a silence you set yourself, from 3 to 36 months.
Nobody decides over your head: you are emailed first, then there are 30 days to reconsider, and a trusted person can stop it.
Private until you share: wings and rooms are private by default.
You can always leave, with everything: a full export as ZIP, also on the free plan. The family tree comes in and goes out as GEDCOM.
